Case Study 2

input

The cost reduction was required in the assembly.

output

We did it by replacing the expensive metal with an alternative option.

challenge

  1. High cost. The cost of the assembly was high. The customer wanted an immediate cost reduction without change in the dimensions in the drawing.

solution

   A. Change in the Raw Material. We changed the material from Brass to Aluminum / SS303 after doing the risk analysis in coordination with the CFT at the client facility. The same protocol was then horizontally deployed in all other products.

result

25% reduction in the cost. The saving was US$ 0.1 million / year.
